Martin J. Hernandez, Esq.
Partner with Fernandez & Hernandez, LLC
3002 W Kennedy Blvd.
Tampa, Florida 33609
After spending four years as a state prosecutor in Tampa, Martin went into private practice in 2004 with Daniel J. Fernandez. Martin took the litigation skills learned as a state prosecutor and expanded the focus of the firm from criminal law to criminal law and civil litigation. Clearly, Martin’s entire legal career has been fighting for victims.
Martin is perhaps most well-known and respected for the commitment, tenacity, approachability, and resourcefulness that he brings to bear on behalf of his clients. These qualities honed through years of litigation, makes Martin and his firm formidable adversaries who are uniquely adept at determining the value of a particular case.
Thanks to his time with the State Attorney’s office, Martin has gained more trial experience than most attorneys achieve in a lifetime of practicing law. Since insurance companies are increasingly opting to take claims to trial rather than settle, Martin’s trial experience has proven to be invaluable.
Martin and his wife, Heidi, also are active in the community. They sponsor 2 to 3 students each year to attend the University of South Florida through the USF Latino Scholarship Fund. So long as these students maintain a certain GPA, Martin and Heidi pay, in cooperation with the Helios foundation, for these students tuition for 4 years. Martin was introduced to the USF Latino Scholarship fund in 2002 and has been a board member with the USF Latin Advisory Panel since 2003.
Furthermore, they are active in their children’s school where Heidi was on the auction committee and a homeroom mom, the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America, Knights of Sant’Yago, and the Ybor City Rotary Club where Martin served as the Sergeant of Arms from 2012 through 2013.

It’s important to contact a defense lawyer as soon as you can. The more time you wait, the more time you give the prosecution to get their “ducks in a row”. Additionally, valuable time-sensitive evidence and testimony must be gathered. We will provide you with a free consultation where you will speak directly with one of our attorneys. Call 813-229-5353
